Description

The City of Pasig in 2023 through the City Development Council (CDC), headed by its Mayor,the Honorable Victor Ma. Regis Nubla Sotto, commissioned TAM Planners Co. for the updating of its City Zoning Ordinance.

The project involved the review of the existing Comprehensive Land and Water Use Plan (CLWUP) and the existing Pasig City Zoning Ordinance together with the proposed CLWUP 2023-2031. Information from the review as well as from consultations and meetings with stakeholders were then used in drafting the New Zoning Ordinance.

The project aimed for the ratification of the ZO within the project duration and thus the firm together with the CPDO and CDC TWG endeavored to  ensure the participation in the various assemblies of concerned national agencies and relevant local government bodies,namely, the MMDA, DHSUD, Pasig CDC, members of the Sangguniang Panglungsod ng Pasig, Local Zoning Review Committee (LZRC), and the Local Zoning Board of Adjustment and Appeals (LZBAA). The CLWUP and Zoning Ordinance were ratified in late 2024.

Description of Services provided

As part of its role in assisting the City Development Council, TAM rendered the following services:

  • Provision of expertise in urban planning, land use planning, urban design and zoning, and national-level and local-level development controls
  • Coordination of activities together with the CPDO and TWG in ensuring compliance with the standards and guidelines on the formulation of the zoning ordinance issued by concerned government agencies
  • Review of the CLWUP of Pasig City in the formulation of policies, strategies, urban design and development guidelines
  • Provide technical support to the LZRC and CPDO in facilitating workshops and discussions with the city sectoral development committees, the barangays and major stakeholders as well as in the conduct of public hearings
  • Formulation of the zoning map consistent with the Land Use Plan and updated Zoning Ordinances
  • Provide technical support to the LZRC and the CPDO in facilitating consultations relevant to the approval and ratification process of the ZO
