TAM-17
The Colegio de San Agustin campus in the municipality of San Jose del Monte (SJDM) in the province of Bulacan is the first campus outside of Metro Manila conducted by the Order of St. Agustine. The site is in line with the program of expansion of the school system and the site selection of the site is strategic since San Jose del Monte is the fastest growing municipality that is directly adjacent to Metro Manila. Tagged as green campus, the campus plan incorporated sustainable development features such as rainwater harvesting, compact development, walkability and environment friendly erosion control systems.
The 20-hectare campus is situated in the hills of Sitio Tunkong Manga in San Jose Del Monte where the rolling terrain posed an extra challenge to the planners. It will house a pre-school, elementary and high school, a large football field and an large multi-purpose gym with multiple tennis courts at at the top floor. The chapel and a statue of St. Agustine are the major focal points of the campus that are placed at the end of the main approach point to the main building of the campus.
The project was a collaborative undertaking with OJ Architects wherein TAM provided master planning services while OJ Architects provided architectural and project management services. The TAM Planning team conducted ocular site surveys and generated secondary data for site profiling. Meetings with OJ Architects and representatives of CSA ware undertaken to provide guidance on development directions. Alternative options on site development where generated wherein the preferred option was further developed as the Master Plan of the Campus.
