
Participants of the CDRA Workshop
The Taguig City Planning and Development Office, assisted by TAM Planners Co., facilitated the development of the exposure database and vulnerability assessment for the city’s 38 barangays. The two-day workshop heldon 27 and 28 October took place at the Kalayaan Hall of the Taguig City Hall Satellite Office in Bonifacio Global City.
The activity is part of the Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA), a five-step process of gathering data, scoping potential impacts,building an exposure database, conducting the risk assessment, and identifying decision areas for intervention. This process is essential in providinginformation for the city’s ongoing updating of its Comprehensive Land and Water Use Plan. Representatives from Taguig’s barangays consisting of members of their Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committees participated in the event.
The workshop consisted of 4 activities: namely, 1 ) Validation and Updating of Exposure Database on Critical Point Facilities (CPF) and Lifeline Utilities (Breakout); 2) Updating of Sensitivity Indicators; 3)Updating of Adaptive Capacity for Exposed Elements and 4) Formulation of Decision Area Matrix.
